We went to Depot Days and was able to go to the round table. It was great to go back and see all the trains in the yard.

Wyoming has been getting a lot of fires over the past couple of months. This is what our sunsets look like with all of the smoke and fires.

Light Painting

I learned a new technique in class this quarter. It is Light painting. You use a flashlight to out line or paint the subject. I had to do still life but I think it will be cool with a person. The first images is done with a LED flashlight with a snoot that I made. The second images was done with a regular flashlight. the third image is done with a match and the last image is done with a candle. You can see how each one gives a different effect. Anyone want to try it? It has to be totally dark and you will have to be able to hold position for 15-30 seconds.

Old run down buildings.

 I am trying something new here. I have added my pictures to a story board. We will see how it works out. I just love old run down buildings. I think the have such a great story to tell. These images is from Tennessee when I went to visit some family. In this first group it is a barn where my mom grew up. The two small images is of a church that my family went too. The one on the bottom is a barn that I saw.

The next group of images is of a barn on the land that I live at when I was a kid. I just love how the green leaves pop against the weathered barn. I like to add my creative touches to them. I enjoy making them sepia, vintage and black- and- white. I even added a border and some frames around some of them. I will be adding more as I get them done.

She normally don't like to get her pictures taken, so when she is willing of course I am going to snap them. We are in Estes Park, CO. She wanted to be in the outdoors. I love my job

Have I told you how much I love my job. I have a family shoot this weekend. So many ideas running through my head for them. Then I have a pumpkin patch shoot next month. That will be so much fun. I have been working on contracts and a brochure that gives all the details of my business. I am hoping to do a couple shoot this weekend as well. I just found out they are coming to town. They just married on Aug. 24, so it will be fun to have them here and get some awesome pictures. Watch for some previews of this weekends shoots.
