What to wear for your photos?

Do you wonder what to wear in your family photos? The more effort you put into your photo-shoot the better your photos will turn out! Period.

When choosing clothing for your family, you always want to add variety! Add layers, throw in a pattern or two, and don’t forget to add texture. The best way to add texture is to wear ruffles or maybe some lace. When this is done well, it will look great! Don’t be shy! Show your personality when choosing your clothing. You want everyone’s personality to shine!

Colors are always the tricky decision. Do you all wear the same color, or do you mix a variety of colors? This is certainly up to you, but we recommend to mix and match! Choose a few different colors that coordinate, and add variety. If you want everyone to match, then find different shades of that color so that you will still get some nice variety.

It always works well to accessorize! Throw in some chunky jewelry, patterned shoes, scarves, hats or hair accessories. Whatever you do, just find great items that will POP!

Family photos are not just about posing for the camera, more important it’s about making memories! Remember to make this an experience your kids will enjoy. Don’t just sit there and smile, listen to your Photographer and also have some fun. The photos of you interacting and showing your personalities will be the ones you will cherish. Make this event even more special by making this a family event; give your children something to look forward to and to behave for. Take them out out as a family afterwards for dinner and ice cream or you could even go bowling…just have fun!

The effort that is put into this time with your family will shine through in your photos! Create more than photos by creating memories.

Portraiture Couture ~ Boudoir, Glamour, Burlesque, Pin up: What is the difference?

Boudoir, Glamour, Burlesque, Pin up: What is the difference?
So you know that you would love to have a sexy Portraiture Couture` session, but you’re not sure which type you want. Or you’re not sure what the difference is. Well this will be your guide to sorting that all out. And if you still are not sure which session would make all your dreams come true, just ask us and we will help you to decide which type of session is just right for you! Or we can do a little of all.

Boudoir: Boudoir merely means a lady’s private bedroom, dressing, or sitting room. This type of photography is based on sensuality, not sexuality. Boudoir photographs are softer in appearance (no, we don’t mean fuzzy!). There is rarely nudity, as it is implied in boudoir, rather than displayed (i.e.: covered by a sheet in such a way that it implies you have nothing under there). Think satin sheets and pearls.

Burlesque: Burlesque is the theatrical playful strip tease; originally it was about turning society’s norms upside down. A burlesque session is colorful and fun; it is all about sexuality, but not necessarily nudity. Burlesque photography is very prop and costume focused, letting you step outside of your everyday self and explore your naughty darker side: this is what makes burlesque so dramatic. Think fishnet stockings and feathers!

Pin Up: Pin up art was originally informal drawings and photographs that were pinned up on your wall, like a 1940’s girly calendar. A pin up session aims to re-create the feeling of a 1940’s photograph: flirty and eye popping color. These sessions are fun and have a real nostalgic feel to them. Here partial nudity is an option as a form of a flirty naughty tease. Think polka dots and bright red lipstick- bare feet optional.

Glamour: Glamour is quality of beauty and/ or charm that makes someone appear sexually attractive. It is usually superficial and more of an illusion. In ancient Celtic Myth, glamour was a type of magic used by the Sidhe (sirens/fairy people) to lure unsuspecting people to their doom or for mating depending on the lore. It's a combination of charm and grace, allure and the kind of attraction that says sexuality in a very understated way.

If you still have questions please feel free to contact us 307-286-1908 or info@jrussellimagery.com, and ask away. Whatever style you choose we will ensure you have the most comfortable session and enjoyable experience. And we are always open to creativity and experimentation. Perhaps once you’ve tried one type of session, you’ll be tempted to try out another type of photography style and explore a different aspect of yourself. Watch our blog, Twitter, and Facebook pages for exclusive promotions, and take advantage of some discounts. Who doesn’t love saving money on amazing products!

Norwex Tile Mop

Fact: When you enter your home without properly wiping your feet, it takes around 15 steps for the dirt on your shoes to collect on your carpet. If dirt does manage to get on the floor, the Norwex Tile Mop is designed specifically for tile flooring, textured linoleum flooring and hard to clean hard surfaces. It's unique design provides nylon fibers woven in a zigzag pattern to create extra cleaning power for stuck on dirt and tough to clean surfaces.

Did you know that by using the figure-8 pattern while cleaning with the Norwex mop you clean more efficiently because you overlap each pass thereby using both sides of the mop. You essentially double clean the area you mopped and Norwex microfiber mops are generally more light -weight and easier to use than most traditional rag or sponge versions. January is Free Mop month at Norwex; Ask me about our monthly special!

About Boudoir ~ Cheyenne Boudoir Photographer

Boudoir photography captures an intimate celebration of love.  It can be bold, tender, understated, vivid, and is always a wonderful experience to have.  My clients often finish our session saying they feel beautiful and that it was so much fun, even for those who were hesitant at first.

The term “boudoir” may also be ascribed to a genre of photography. Boudoir photography is not generally a new concept and numerous examples exist of early Hollywood stars such as Kathleen Meyers, Clara Bow, Mae West and Jean Harlow photographed in a boudoir style.

However there is a burgeoning modern trend for boudoir photography in some countries. Typically shot in a photographer’s studio or luxury hotel suites, it has become fashionable to create a set of sensual or sexually suggestive images of women (and occasionally men and couples) in “boudoir style”. The most common manifestation of contemporary boudoir photography is to take variations of candid and posed photographs of the subject partly clothed or in lingerie. Nudity is more often implied than explicit.

Boudoir photography maybe distinguished from other photography genres such as glamour photography, fine art nude photography and erotic photography. According to research carried out in Digital Boudoir Photography (2006), John G. Blair said that the word “Boudoir” or “Boudoir portrait” was used in 1980 by Motherlode Photography Studio in California to describe a picture more elegant than “erotic portrait” or “semi nude portrait”.

Boudoir photography is alluring and sensual and proud of the fact. It’s a genre of photography that enables women to express inner and outer beauty.

Bacteria on Kitchen Counters ~ Norwex Independent Consultant

Did you know that one single bacteria on your kitchen counter can become more than 8 million cells in less then 24 hours? Because your hands, food, utensils, rags all grace the counter tops and the sink they can be a breeding ground for germs. Keep purses, briefcases, lunchboxes, keys, mail, and electronic devices like remote controls off counter tops because they add to the germ count! Contact me to order them 307-286-1908 or visit my website http://jacquerussell.norwex.biz/

Tips about a Boudoir Session ~ Wyoming Boudoir Photographer

Jacque Russell Imagery is tasteful portraits with a hint of sexiness. Everyone has their own idea of what sexy is and what they are comfortable with. Our sessions are fun, sexy, flirty, and sensual while staying within your comfort level.

Why have a Boudoir session done?

Many clients come wanting sexy, sensual portraits for their significant other. Others come in wanting to do a session for themselves. Having gorgeous and sexy portraits of YOU can be an incredible self esteem booster. Confidence….. Nothing is more sexier than that.  You will be walking out of the session with your head held high with confidence. It is all about the experience and feeling of being beautiful.

Here are some tips and hints to help you prepare for your session.

Hair and Make-up:
Most women do their own hair and make-up. Salons and department store make-up counters are also good resources. We will also provide this service for a small fee. Who ever does your make-up please let them know that it is for a photo shoot. It will need to be a little darker than normal.

Body weight and Image:
Most women (including myself) don’t have bodies like a super model. Don’t worry. That doesn’t mean we can’t have gorgeous and sexy photographs. We will highlight your assets while disguising the parts that you are self conscious about. One thing to always remember, your significant other loves you just the way you are. Our goal is to let you see how beautiful you really are. No matter your size, your portraits will be stunning.

Pick a theme:
Pick something that makes you feel sexy. It can be lingerie, business suits, doctor coat, fire fighters, turnouts, police uniform, or any other fetish that you or your significant other may have. You can also do Pin-up style clothing.

Clothing Choices:
Bring clothes that you feel sexy and beautiful in. Bra, panties, corsets, teddies, stockings, tank top, booty shorts, sports jerseys, and men’s business shirts are all popular. Remember to bring accessories for each outfit as well as sexy shoes. We do have some jewelry and shoes that can be borrowed. We also have some plus size lingerie.

Modesty and Nudity:
You don’t have to take your clothes off to be sexy.  Clothed, partially clothed, hinted nudity, a full nude can all be sexy. We will only shoot what you are comfortable with showing in your photographs. We will never push you into doing something that you don’t want to.

Retouching:
We do a little bit. We will soften the skin, brighten eyes and remove bruises, acne, stretch marks but only if need be. We will do creative editing to give you more printing options. Example of creative editing is color, vintage, color, and black and white.

Privacy:
Privacy is a concern due to the intimate nature of boudoir sessions. All our boudoir images are kept in strict confidence and NO images will be shown without written permission from you, the client. All images on site have written permission to be displayed. We print and make our own albums in house. See sample page to see some of our custom albums. If a large print is wanted we use a professional lab that safeguards the privacy of our client’s portraits.

Girlfriend Session:
You and three to four of your best friends can get together and do your session at the same time. Each girl pays the session fee. They can be done at your home or in a local hotel. Each of you will be photographed individually as you are ready. We will make sure that each of you get the appropriate amount of images. At the end when everyone is dressed we will take a group shot to commemorate the session.

Where to do your session:
Your session can be done at my home studio, your home, a local hotel, a bed and breakfast, and even outside in a private or secluded area.

Tips for the morning of your session:
Drink lots of water and wear loose fitting clothing. Avoid tight fitting undergarments as they are most likely to leave markings on your skin.

Tips for after your session:
Getting into and holding some of the most flattering poses can give you a work-out so don’t be surprised if you’re a little sore afterwards. Drink lots of water and take pain meds as needed.

As always if you have any concerns please contact us at 307-286-1908 or email us at boudoir@jrussellimagery.com

Boudoir/ Glamour Mrs E. ~ Cheyenne Boudoir Photogorapher

Here is another lovely lady. She was so laid back. We were able to try new techniques with her. She was a lot of fun. I think I found my niche in photography. I love making others feel beautiful. It gives me great joy to edit their portraits.
